The Defensive augment is the only kit with a Shield Recharger that works while sprinting, which turns shield uptime into a variable you control rather than an event that happens between fights. Torrente provides sustained suppression fire (58 rps) so the rest of the squad picks its angle. Anvil covers the last-stand case when the LMG runs empty. Fives slots for quick-use means you can carry both a light and heavy grenade; you will need both for PvP and PvE lanes on most maps. Skills identical to the Brawler's Conditioning spine plus Broad Shoulders for the shared-loot squad meta.
