Abelard is the reliable frontline. Build him Warrior into Vanguard to soak hits and punish enemies who strike near your allies, or into Arch-Militant for more personal melee damage. His ceiling sits below the carries, but he is never a liability, which is why the community calls him the backbone of the dynasty.
