Through the Cracks Quest Guide
Through the Cracks is one of the most-searched quests in The Fall of Avalon, and the payout earns the attention: finish it and you walk away with the Mystic Ward, a magic weapon worth detouring for. The quest is linear with no branching choice, so the only thing standing between you and the reward is a midnight wait, a portal, and a boss. Here is the full run.
Starting the quest
You pick this up from Sine, a shopkeeper in Craftsmen's Row in Cuanacht. She tells you supplies keep going missing from her warehouse and asks you to look into it. The catch is that the warehouse will not open on your schedule. It opens on the quest's.
Lighting the bonfire and waiting for midnight
Head to entity:syne's warehouse and light the bonfire she points you toward. Then wait until midnight. The warehouse only becomes accessible at that hour, so if you arrive in daylight, use a rest point or pass the time until the in-game clock rolls over. Once midnight hits, the warehouse opens and a portal sits inside, ready to pull you through.
Step into it.
The otherworld
The portal drops you into an otherworld dimension, a separate space from the Cuanacht you know. This is where Sine's missing supplies have been disappearing to, and it is not empty. You will fight your way through it, and the first person worth talking to is not an enemy.
Finding Percy
Inside the otherworld you find Percy, a soldier trapped in this dimension. He fills in what is going on and points you toward the way forward. Percy is the human anchor of an otherwise hostile space, so hear him out before you push deeper. The path he sets you on runs into the quest's puzzle.
The bridge puzzle
The route forward is blocked by a device and bridge puzzle. You need to operate the mechanism to extend or align the bridge so you can cross to the next section. Work the device, get the bridge in place, and move across. This is the one obstacle in the quest that asks for something other than combat, and once the bridge is set the path to the boss opens.
The boss: Gaelic Tarian
At the end of the otherworld you face Gaelic Tarian, the boss holding the dimension. This is the fight the whole quest builds toward. Come in with your strongest weapon and whatever consumables you have been hoarding, because Tarian is the gatekeeper between you and the exit. A caster has a clean time here; if you are running a magic build, the mage build is well suited to fighting at range in tight otherworld spaces. Bring Tarian down and the way out reveals itself.
Escaping and the Mystic Ward reward
After Gaelic Tarian falls, look for the orange object in the area. Touch it to escape the otherworld and return to the warehouse. Report back to Sine to close the quest.
Your reward is the Mystic Ward, the magic weapon that makes this quest a priority pickup. For any spellcaster, it is a meaningful upgrade, and given the quest is linear with no choice to second-guess, there is no reason to skip it. Light the bonfire, wait for midnight, clear the otherworld, beat Tarian, and grab your weapon.

Through the Cracks is one of the cleaner side quests in Cuanacht, which is saying something in a region stacked with grey decisions and locked paths. No one dies because of your call here, no faction turns on you, and the reward is a weapon worth the trip. If you are working through the region, slot this one in early. For the bigger forks waiting elsewhere in Cuanacht, the walkthrough hub lays out which quests carry consequences and which, like this one, just hand you good gear.
