TL;DR
item:meteorite-ore sits behind a 16 gold pickaxe and eight deposits, almost all of them packed into Horns of the South. Once you know where they are and how to reset them, a full stack takes one sleep cycle instead of an afternoon of wandering. Current for patch 1.25.
- Buy a Pickaxe from Órlaith at the Horns of the South Fortress for 16 gold. Without one, every ore node in the game is scenery.
- Meteorite Ore has eight confirmed deposits across six sites in Horns of the South, plus nodes on the bridge north of the castle. The fastest farm is the Tomb of the Good Druid, which has a bed near the end of the area.
- Resource nodes reset when you leave the immediate area and sleep in a bed or rest at a bonfire.
- Beor in Cuanacht City and Flaithri in Volker Village both stock Meteorite Ore at 100 gold. Shops restock every 24 hours.
- Iron Tooth does not come from mining. Redcaps drop it, and the Ancient Cromlech pond is the densest cluster.
- Ethereal Cobwebs are the Queen Bee currency, and they are not the ordinary cobwebs you pick up off scenery.
- Pumpkin Seeds are night-only and quest-gated. You need Roots of Knowledge from Eogan first, then the Jolly Skeleton at Roscree during Wyrd hours, 80 gold.
Get the pickaxe first
Órlaith sells a Pickaxe at the Horns of the South Fortress for 16 gold, which is the cheapest mining permit in any RPG this year. Free copies exist if you would rather not pay: one embedded in a wall at the Island Asylum, two in the Miners' Tunnels (a sack beside an Iron Ore node on the left branch, and a crate above Horst's cooking fire), and one at a dig spot on the shore at Blood Lake. The Pickaxe upgrades with a Sharpening Stone and opens ten more upgrade levels in New Game Plus, so the first one you pick up is the last one you need.

Every confirmed Meteorite Ore deposit
Eight deposits sit across six sites in Horns of the South, and the bridge north of the castle adds more. Mining nodes also appear in Cuanacht and Forlorn Swords, but the southern region is where the density is.
Abandoned Stronghold. A large meteorite along the western edge of the outer walls, around the corner from the fast travel point. This is the single easiest node in the game to reach from a loading screen.
East of the Abandoned Village. On top of the small cliff ringing the camp, right next to the village itself.
Southeast of Ancient Cave. Shimmy along the edge and check the upper cliff for the cluster.
West of Ancient Cave. Along an edge directly across from the fast travel point. Jump onto the rocks on the southern side of the path; there is no route from the front.
Tomb of the Good Druid. Two formations. The first sits at the first dead end on your left, past a Dryad. The second is down the stairs opposite the hallway.
Between Archspire and the Forgotten Cemetery. Two deposits, one in an alcove on the northwestern side of the ruins, one in a crevice directly below the ledge.
The bridge north of the castle. Nodes spawn to the right as you cross heading north.
The Tomb of the Good Druid loop
The Tomb is the best item:meteorite-ore farm because it solves the reset problem without a fast travel round trip. Nodes come back when you leave the immediate area and sleep in a bed or rest at a bonfire, and the Tomb has a bed near the end of the run.
Mine both formations near the entrance, walk through to the bed, sleep, then walk back to the start. The deposits are up again. A loop takes a couple of minutes and never asks you to sit through a loading screen.
Vendors versus nodes
item:beor in Cuanacht City and Flaithri in Volker Village, over in Forlorn Swords, both sell item:meteorite-ore at 100 gold a unit. The ore's own value is 50 gold, so you are paying double, and their stock refreshes on the standard 24 hour shop timer rather than instantly.
Buy when you are short one or two pieces for a recipe you want tonight. Farm when you need volume. A Tomb of the Good Druid loop out-produces two vendor restocks in the time it takes to fast travel between Cuanacht and Volker Village, and it costs nothing. The vendors are a top-up, not a supply line.
What Meteorite Ore actually builds
Nine craftable items call for it, and the quantities matter when you are budgeting a stack:
| Item | Ore required |
|---|---|
| Frostblade | 5 |
| Frostmaw | 5 |
| Inferno Blade | 5 |
| Shard Of Fallen Sky | 5 |
| Ogre Bonk | 3 |
| Widowmaker | 3 |
| Meteorite Arrow | 1 |
| Meteorite Throwing Knife | 1 |
| Stonewarden Talisman | 1 |
The second use is quieter and matters more for build viability: item:meteorite-ore feeds armor weight reduction at the Blacksmith Table. Every weight-reduction job wants a Sharpening Stone and an ore, and the ore the game asks for climbs with the tier of the piece, which is where your meteorite goes. Armor weight drives your dash count, stamina regen, attack speed, and movement speed, so shaving weight off a heavy set is what lets you wear it without dropping to a single dash. Every point of encumbrance you strip is a point you do not have to buy with Strength or Endurance. Our crafting and gathering guide covers the stations, skill scaling, and the rest of the recipe economy these materials feed.
Iron Tooth, Etherbloom, and Ethereal Cobwebs
Iron Tooth is not an ore despite the name. Redcaps drop it, the goblin-like enemies wearing red caps, and the drop rate is high enough that a short sweep usually covers a recipe. The best clusters: the pond north of the Ancient Cromlech fast travel point, just beyond the big stone; the stone arch over the road on the western path from that same point; the shore hut southeast of the Horns keep gate; and the hill by the intersection east of the broken wall near the Abandoned Stronghold. Drop a bonfire and wait a few in-game days to bring them back. item:iron-tooth also drops from identifying gear at T2 through T5 quality, Decent through Immaculate, which is a steady passive trickle for anyone who loots everything. It works as both an alchemy and a handicraft reagent, and the Act of Kindness quest needs it as a potion ingredient.
Etherbloom restores 15 mana over 10 seconds on its own and carries an alchemy rating of 4, which makes it the mana reagent worth stockpiling for a caster. Two locations hold real quantities of item:etherbloom: the growing area at the end of Smuggler's Bay Dungeon in Horns of the South, and the top floor of the Gates of Knowledge in Cuanacht, in the western hallway room on the table with the alchemy station. If you are building around that mana pool, our battlemage and spellsword build guide sets out how much of it you actually burn per fight.
Ethereal Cobwebs are the ones the Queen Bee wants, and they are a different item from the item:cobwebs you pull off scenery and ordinary kills. They only drop during Wyrdness, so rest at a bonfire until the in-game clock turns gold, then clear everything in sight. Wyrdspawn drop far more than tainted creatures do and travel in packs, which makes the Sunken Village at night the reliable early farm. Start banking early, because the crown tier of the Queen Bee questline alone asks for a thousand.
Pumpkin Seeds
item:pumpkin-seeds are an Act 1 quest item, not a crafting reagent, and they are gated twice over. First, speak to Eogan at the top of the tower in the Horns of the South fortress and take Roots of Knowledge, which has you plant your first seeds in the Keepers stronghold garden. Only after that does the seed vendor open up.
The vendor is at Roscree, a small farm northwest of the fortress and directly west of the All-Mother Temple. The farm is empty during the day, and two skeletons tend it during Wyrd hours, where the Jolly Skeleton sells seeds at 80 gold. Fast travel in at night.
A Horns of the South farming route
Start at the fortress and buy the Pickaxe from Órlaith. Take the bridge north and clear the nodes on the right. Fast travel to the Abandoned Stronghold and take the big meteorite off the western wall, then swing east past the broken wall for Redcaps on the intersection. Cut to the Abandoned Village and take the cliff node. From the Ancient Cromlech point, hit the pond Redcaps and the stone arch pair to the west, then the two Ancient Cave deposits. Finish at the Tomb of the Good Druid and run the bed loop until you have the stack you need.
That single circuit covers six ore deposits and three Redcap clusters, and it ends on the only farm in the game that resets itself.
What patch 1.25 changes for your material spend
The 1.25 bonus content drop added seven bows and five wands, and all of them are gold purchases rather than crafts. Osmond in Cuanacht Main Square sells the bows at 4,000 gold; Bonxie sells the wands at 2,000. Nothing you mine goes into buying them, which means your item:meteorite-ore is free to go straight into upgrades and weight reduction on gear you already own.
The Scalesong Set is where the weight math gets interesting. Its ranged damage scales with armor value, so an archer wants heavier pieces than an archer normally would. Weight reduction at the Blacksmith Table is how you carry that armor and keep your dashes, and Meteorite Ore is what pays for it. Stack the ore before you commit to the set, then check our archer build guide for how the Scalesong bonus interacts with weakspot damage.
