Yrliet Lanaevyss Romance Guide

Gender lock: none. Yrliet may return the feelings of a Rogue Trader of any gender, man or woman.

TL;DR: This is the hardest romance in the game and a true slow burn. Recruit Yrliet on Janus in Chapter 2, never flirt or reach for physical touch early, and earn her trust across Acts 2 through 4 by showing you understand her people instead of conquering them.

Set your expectations first

entity:yrliet Yrliet is an Aeldari ranger, and her romance is built around the gulf between her kind and yours. She abhors intimacy in the early going, so the instincts that win entity:jae Jae will sink any chance with Yrliet. Do not flirt. Do not reach for physical touch of any kind until very late, because early intimacy suggestions prevent the romance entirely rather than just slowing it. Restraint is the whole game here, and it pays off only after many hours.

Recruiting her

entity:yrliet Yrliet joins in Chapter 2 during the quest World Shapers on the planet Janus, where she helps you from a vantage point. After you have spoken with the governor, find her outside near the red gazebo and ask her to join. From there the romance unfolds across the rest of the campaign in stages tied to specific acts.

Act 2: prove you are curious, not conquering

The opening beats come during the Aeldari in Distress arc. In the warp-jump conversation, take the line of genuine inquiry: ask why human and Eldar relations are so bad, tell her that not all humans are the same, ask how she is different, and tell her to teach you. You are establishing yourself as someone who wants to learn rather than judge.

After a few warp jumps she seeks you out on her own. Meet her by repeating her words back to her, telling her you feel the world differently now, telling her you feel the pain of others, and saying you want to understand her and build something deeper between you.

Then comes a quiet test. Speak with her again on the lower deck where entity:idira Idira usually stands, and you will find her meditating. Do not disturb her. Wait, then sit beside her. She notices that you held back, and she is impressed by it. She watches whether you can restrain yourself, and she rewards you when you do.

After the attack on Dargnous she comes to you again. Tell her that her kin's actions are not her fault, that the losses weigh heavily on you too, and agree to meditate with her. When the moment to reach for her arrives, resist the temptation.

Act 3: forgiveness over possession

When you meet her again in Act 3, forgive her. Do not take the possessive route; the option that frames her as yours to claim is wrong every time it appears. Speak with her in the Pit, agree to meditate, and when the chance comes, tell her you want to comfort her but you know she dislikes human touch. Naming the boundary out loud is itself the right move.

After escaping Commorragh, the crew will press you to punish her. Forgive her instead and be kind. The choice that keeps the romance alive is the gentler second option, not the harsh one the rest of the retinue wants.

Act 4: stand with her people

The Act 4 beats arrive during the entity:calligos-winterscale Calligos Winterscale quest at Quetza Temer. Side with the Aeldari and persuade Winterscale to call off his hunt. Tell entity:yrliet Yrliet that her kin's plans are insane and must be stopped, and tell her you will stand by her side through it.

Then comes the most important moment of the whole romance. Do not let the ritual finish. Interrupt it, ask her about her broken soul stone, and comfort her by promising that you will find it. Get this beat wrong and everything you built across three acts comes undone, so treat it as the one step you cannot afford to fumble.

The choice that closes the rest

Like every companion romance, entity:yrliet Yrliet's is exclusive past the quest The Lord Inquisitor and The Lord Captain. You can keep other threads open until then, but the game eventually asks you to commit to one love interest and the others end. Given how much patience Yrliet's path demands, decide early whether she is the one, and protect her romance through every act so it survives to the moment you choose.
