Jae Heydari Romance Guide
Gender lock: none. Jae will romance a Rogue Trader of any gender; she shows no hesitation if you put in the effort.
TL;DR: Recruit Jae at Footfall in Chapter 2, then flirt with her on the bridge. Hers is the most relaxed romance in the game, with obvious flirty options and a couple of grand gestures that seal it.
Why Jae is the easy one
entity:cassia Cassia and entity:yrliet Yrliet make you earn every step through patience and restraint. entity:jae Jae wants none of that. She is openly flirtatious, the romance-positive options read as exactly what they are, and she rewards a Lord Captain who leans into the chemistry instead of dancing around it. Anyone who puts in the effort can win her over, man or woman. This is the romance to pick if you want one that moves without a checklist of traps.
Getting her aboard, then getting her attention
entity:jae Jae arrives in Chapter 2. You first meet her at Footfall while dealing with the Liege of Footfall, where she is mid-argument with him and hands you the quest Persona Non Grata. You recruit her by tracking her down in the Shadow Quarters bar to finish Wanted on Footfall. Once she joins, the romance lives on the void ship bridge.
To start flirting, talk to her on the bridge and choose "Has the esteemed princess' heart been claimed by some lucky fellow?" That opens the flirtatious track and Jae plays right back.
There is a second way in. After you complete her trader certification at the Administratum during the quest Mercatum Tabula Officiale, you can spark the romance on the bridge. When you do, pick any option except "You are welcome, Jae" or "You presume too much, Heydari." Both of those shut the door; everything else keeps it open.
What she wants from you
entity:jae Jae's romance runs on partnership and on using your position for her. Be supportive of her decisions. Take her problems on as your own rather than treating them as her business alone. And put your Rogue Trader status to work helping her, which is where the romance starts to feel less like flirting and more like an alliance.
Two specific gestures stand out. When you speak with High Factotum Janis Danrok, you can gift Jae an entire planet, which is precisely the scale of generosity she respects. And if the romance is going well, she sends you on an errand; finish it and she rewards you with a Sirocco.
Bonus content along the way
entity:jae Jae's romance pays off beyond the relationship itself. Her thread grants bonus quests in Chapters 2 and 3, so keeping her happy opens up extra content that a non-romanced playthrough never sees. It is one more reason she is an easy recommendation for a first romance.
The one rule you cannot dodge
Every companion romance shares the same hard limit. You can flirt with several at once early on, but the quest The Lord Inquisitor and The Lord Captain forces you to commit to a single love interest, and the rest end there. entity:jae Jae is forgiving enough to court alongside others up to that point, so if she is your choice, make sure she is the one you commit to when the game asks.
Build and roster notes
When she is fighting beside you rather than charming you, entity:jae Jae brings real utility to the party. Set her up properly with the Jae build guide, check the companion tier list to see where she ranks, and head to the romance hub for every other love interest and the exclusivity rules that bind them all.
