Why the Moonstone Axe

Aspect of Charon (Standard) - S-Tier

Modifier: Pin enemies with the cast, charge omega-special at the location to create three 300-radius shockwaves. Best for: Stationary-boss DPS, Chronos phase 2 shred. Meta build: Charon Axe Omega-Cast Launcher (50 Fear, DTB-verified).

Apollo Lucid Gain is the mandatory first pickup. The omega-cast costs 30 Magick; Lucid Gain returns 40 per 30 spent at base rarity, which means infinite repeats once it's locked. Aspect of Thanatos is the crit-stack archetype. Every Omega Move hit accumulates critical chance, so prolonged Omega channels become the build's payoff loop. Pair the aspect with the item:night Arcana card for +9-18% crit, the Artemis item:white-antler keepsake for +20-50% crit damage, and Artemis boons that compound crit chance and crit damage on top of the stacking aspect bonus.

The trade against Charon is consistency versus burst. Where Charon dies if the omega-cast whiffs, Thanatos accumulates crit chance through the run and pays out across longer fights. Vow of Frenzy and Vow of Rivals both punish this archetype hardest because they remove crit windows; pick a different aspect for those vows.

Aspect of Nergal (Hidden Aspect) - A-Tier

Modifier: Build Berserk stacks via omega-attack windups; face-tank damage while healing back through full scars. Best for: Vow of Forfeit and other vows that punish frequent dodging. Meta build: Nergal Axe Berserker Lifesteal (32+ Fear).

Apollo Nova Strike and Hephaestus Volcanic Strike form the build's spine.
