Crimson Desert Oongka Build Guide: Raging Spin and Siege Titan
item:oongka unlocks in Chapter 7 and rewrites your damage ceiling. He starts with 1,125 HP, the largest pool in the game, and at item:armed-combat-oongka Lv 4 he picks up item:dual-wielding-mastery-oongka, the only skill that lets a character hold a two-handed weapon in each hand. This guide consolidates his two viable endgame archetypes: the Raging Spin AoE channel and the Siege Titan greataxe-and-cannon swap.
TL;DR. Raging Spin stacks attack speed and crit on a greataxe to turn item:raging-lightning-oongka into a stationary meatgrinder for dense crowds. Siege Titan, the older Mountain Breaker pattern, opens with item:scatter-shot-oongka from an item:orc-blaster, swaps to the greataxe, holds item:rage-oongka for super armor, and cleaves bosses with item:rampage-oongka and item:quaking-fury-oongka. Both run Blue heavy with Red second. Both ignore Green and elemental imbues; Oongka's payoff is physical per-hit.
Oongka's Identity
Oongka is the orc bruiser. His weapon access locks to four classes: greataxes, hammers, hand cannons (the item:orc-blaster line), and unarmed. No swords, spears, or rapiers. item:dual-wielding-mastery-oongka breaks the apparent restriction; he can run a greataxe and a warhammer at the same time, single-handed, and weave between them with item:quick-swap-oongka.
item:rage-oongka, slotted off the Spirit branch, gives him a Super Armor state during item:focus-oongka mode. He cannot be staggered, knocked down, or interrupted while it holds. item:quaking-fury-oongka is his stamina workhorse, a spinning sweep into a downward strike with proficiency upgrades through Lv 3. item:raging-lightning-oongka is the high-stamina alternative, a rapid full-body spin that hits everything in melee range.
Greataxes carry the highest base ATK in the game, and Oongka's stamina pool at Lv 14 max sustains the heavy swings other characters cannot string together. Plate armor is always correct because Crimson Desert has no equip-load penalty; the heaviest defense option always wins.
Archetype 1: Raging Spin
Raging Spin is the channel build. Invest in attack speed, take item:raging-lightning-oongka out of the Stamina branch's spinning AoE node, and let the body-spin animation stay live for as long as the stamina bar holds. Every spin tick is a separate damage instance, and stacking attack speed compresses the interval between ticks.
Loadout.
- Primary: item:patterned-stone-greataxe (the build's tested anchor; item:hellhounds-chopping-axe is the upgrade target for its Crit Rate Lv 2 roll)
- Secondary: item:bekker-greathammer for item:quick-swap-oongka pressure between channels
- Armor: item:blackwing-leather-armor for the 3 Abyss sockets
- Abyss Cores: item:swift-iii, item:swift-i, item:destruction-iii, item:insight-iii, item:wind-slash
Why Swift stacking works. Each item:raging-lightning-oongka tick rolls its own crit check. More ticks per second means more crit rolls per second, which is why item:insight-iii at Lv 3 Crit Rate sits in the fifth slot. item:wind-slash adds an AoE damage instance off each connected hit, a separate damage line that does not eat stamina.
Rotation. Hold item:raging-lightning-oongka until stamina approaches zero, break to item:quaking-fury-oongka into item:quaking-fury-rend-armor-oongka for a stagger reset, mix in unarmed kicks while stamina refills, then re-engage. The build is for open-world packs and dungeon corridors. It struggles against single bosses with high mobility and against ranged casters who can keep distance during the channel.
Build: 24bd7c95Archetype 2: Siege Titan
Siege Titan, the build the community first called Mountain Breaker, is the classic Oongka pattern. It runs greataxe and hand cannon on a swap, leans on item:rage-oongka for survivability through the heavy windup of item:quaking-fury-oongka, and excels against bosses where the Spin build trades down.
Loadout.
- Primary: item:hellhounds-chopping-axe (Crit Rate Lv 2 makes item:quaking-fury-oongka swings hit harder per impact)
- Secondary: item:orc-blaster for the opening item:scatter-shot-oongka
- Armor: item:blackwing-leather-armor (12 DEF, 3 Abyss sockets)
- Abyss Cores: item:destruction-iii, item:destruction-iii, item:ancient-retribution, item:malicebane-i, item:insight-i
Why double Destruction III stacks. Abyss Core flat-attack bonuses remain additive within a weapon, so two item:destruction-iii gives a flat +6 ATK on top of base. On a greataxe that translates into the largest absolute increase two slots can buy. item:ancient-retribution adds the punishment trigger on hit, firing on every item:rampage-oongka and Quaking Fury swing. item:malicebane-i gives +4% damage against mighty foes, the in-game tag for world bosses.
Rotation. Open with item:scatter-shot-oongka from the item:orc-blaster to soften the encounter. Swap weapons, activate item:rage-oongka to lock in Super Armor, cleave with item:rampage-oongka as the opener and item:quaking-fury-oongka Lv 3 with item:quaking-fury-rend-armor-oongka as the follow-up. Rend Armor matters because late-game bosses run their own super armor states; the proficiency at Quaking Fury Lv 3 ignores theirs. Rage holds your hyper armor while you trade hit for hit.
Build: 7bc5eeb7Skill Tree Priorities
Both archetypes lean Blue heavy. The two non-negotiable nodes for either build are item:armed-combat-oongka Lv 5 and item:quaking-fury-oongka Lv 3 with the item:quaking-fury-rend-armor-oongka proficiency.
Raging Spin. Stamina branch top-to-bottom: Armed Combat, item:slash-oongka, item:hack-and-slash-oongka, Quaking Fury, item:quaking-fury-proficiency-oongka, item:quaking-fury-expertise-oongka, item:raging-lightning-oongka. Then sink Health Core points up to Lv 12 for the HP cushion during channels. Stamina Lv 10 minimum to support the 30-stamina cost on Raging Lightning. Skip item:marksmanship-oongka; the item:orc-blaster is a swap-in, not a primary tool. Skip Spirit Core; parry and counter work do not exist inside a spin rotation.
Siege Titan. Stamina branch: Armed Combat through item:dual-wielding-mastery-oongka, Quaking Fury into Rend Armor, item:rampage-oongka with item:rampage-sure-hit-oongka at Lv 3, then Marksmanship to unlock item:scatter-shot-oongka's item:explosive-strike-oongka upgrade. Spirit Core minimum to grab item:rage-oongka off the item:focus-oongka branch. Health Core last; Oongka soaks more hits than any other character and the investment pays direct dividends.

Weapon Recommendations
Oongka's primary decision is greataxe versus hammer. Greataxes hit harder per swing and carry better Crit Rate rolls on the named drops. Hammers carry better stagger and armor-break. The two named greataxes worth chasing are item:hellhounds-chopping-axe (Crit Rate Lv 2) and item:double-headed-axe-of-greed, the original Mountain Breaker pairing with item:ancient-retribution. item:patterned-stone-greataxe is the early stand-in for either archetype.
For the secondary slot, Raging Spin runs item:bekker-greathammer for swap variance during stamina refills. Siege Titan runs the item:orc-blaster, Oongka's character-specific hand cannon with the largest spread on item:scatter-shot-oongka.
Hand cannons come in three lines: standard barrels (item:bismuth-cannon, item:alpha-barrel-cannon), electromagnetic spitters (item:electromagnetic-boltspitter, item:electromagnetic-flamespitter, item:electromagnetic-frostspitter) that add elemental rolls, and the Orc Blaster line. item:finest-rhinard-cannon is the late-game upgrade if you want a specialized ranged secondary. Avoid single-handed axes like item:bekker-axe or item:crow-brothers-axe in the primary slot; the per-hit damage is a downgrade.
Abyss Core Setup
Abyss Cores split cleanly between the two builds. Raging Spin wants attack speed and crit because it generates damage through tick frequency. Siege Titan wants flat attack and per-hit modifiers because each greataxe swing is a discrete damage instance.
Raging Spin priority order. item:swift-iii, item:swift-i, item:insight-iii, item:destruction-iii, item:wind-slash. The Swift stack is the core multiplier; everything else compounds off spin frequency.
Siege Titan priority order. Destruction III, Destruction III, item:ancient-retribution, item:malicebane-i, item:insight-i. Two stacked Destruction III give you the largest flat ATK gain two cores can deliver. Ancient Retribution is the synergy piece; it triggers on hit, which means every item:rampage-oongka tick and every item:quaking-fury-oongka sweep gets the bonus.
Both builds want a 5-slot weapon. Abyss Gear slots go 5 for two-handed, 3 for one-handed, 2 for shields. Oongka's greataxes and warhammers all come in at 5 slots, so the slot constraint solves itself.
When to Pick Oongka
Oongka excels in three encounter types. World bosses with super armor, where item:quaking-fury-rend-armor-oongka breaks them and item:rage-oongka protects you through the trade. Dense open-world packs, where item:raging-lightning-oongka's spin radius outscales item:damiane's combo loop. Encounters where mistakes are expected; the 1,125 HP pool absorbs hits that would kill the other two characters.
He struggles in two. Mobile bosses cycling between melee and ranged phases punish his low movement speed. Encounters dominated by ranged adds force him to either close on each enemy individually or rely on hand-cannon damage that runs middling.
Compared to item:kliff, Oongka trades versatility for raw output. Kliff's Crit Boss Killer does more single-target boss DPS than Siege Titan, but only with item:vow-of-the-dead-king and a full endgame Abyss Core stack. That gear is hard to assemble. Siege Titan reaches 80% of that ceiling with campaign-available drops.
Compared to Damiane, Oongka asks less of your inputs. Damiane's Steel Rose has the highest theoretical DPS when played perfectly, but it folds the moment you take a hit. If your reflexes are average, Oongka's actual output beats what Damiane prints in spreadsheets.
